Virginia (Jenny) Robertson Snively, 65, died May 29th, 2012 in her home in Talala, Oklahoma after battling cancer.
Virginia was born in Weleeka, Oklahoma to Louis and Eva Lankford and was the mother of three, Grandma of five and Great Grandma of one. She was the youngest of 13.
She was married to Max Robertson on July 11th 1962 and moved to Stillwater Oklahoma where she lived most of the time until his death Sept 29 1989. Virginia was the mother of Toni Ann Patterson, Joy Lynette Smith and Max Darren Robertson.
Virginia married Austin Snively on December 31st 2005 and moved to Talala, Oklahoma where she lived a very loved and blessed life. This is where she finally was able to live out her dreams with a great love. She loved her stepchildren Suzanne Gowins, David Snively and their children as her own.
One of her favorite things in life was her grandchildren, Lacy Nicole Smith, Jennifer Michelle Smith, Jesse Owen Patterson IV, Shy Ann Patterson, Max Devon Robertson, and her first Great Grandson David Alexander Williams. She had many “adopted” children and grandchildren throughout life due to her abundance of love.
She joined the Talala First Baptist Church, she has made this her family also and felt blessed by the love at church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, being a Prayer Warrior and the fellowship with the Seniors. She also established the Clothing Closet for children in the area to have school clothes.
Virginia graduated with her Associates in Business from Tulsa Community College and retired from American Airlines in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, both parents and some siblings. She is survived by her husband, all her children and grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held June 9th, 2012 at 11:00 am at Talala First Baptist Church in Talala, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Virginia’s memory to the Grace Hospice Foundation, Box 35489, Tulsa, OK 74153-0894.
