Harold Hazen Ward, known to his friends as Mack, died in his home on Saturday,
October 18, 2014 in Verdigris, OK. He was 71.
Mack was born on January 28, 1943 in North Platte, Nebraska to his parents
George Harold Ward and Aileen Payne Ward. He moved with his parents to
Missouri and California prior to being raised in Golden, Colorado. He
attended Arvada High School and then Denver Barber College. Mack moved
to Oklahoma in 1966 where he owned hairstyling shops and was a hairstylist
until he retired in 2008.
Mack loved his farm, barbecuing, his Colorado Mountains, and spending time
with his children and grandchildren – who he loved to brag on. Mack
came to know the Lord late in life and especially loved going to church.
Mack is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Gwen and Robin Baer
and Kandy and Tommy Collins of Verdigris, Oklahoma; his mother, Aileen
Ward of Golden, Colorado; his brother, Scott Ward and wife Diane of Talala,
Oklahoma; his sister, Donna Young and husband, Charlie of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma; his grandson's family Joshua, Kristen, and Jorja Collins;
his granddaughter's family, Kayci and Kasey Battenfield; and granddaughter,
Kaylee Baer. Mack was preceded in death by his father, George Harold Ward;
and brothers, Marty Ward and Dwayne Edris.
A memorial will take place on October 22
nd at 2:00 p.m. at Verdigris Assembly of God Church, Claremore, OK. Flowers
may be sent to the church or donations made in Mack's name to the
American Heart Association or B.G.M.C. – Boys and Girls Missionary
Challenge through Verdigris Assembly.
