Billy Ray Porter, age 60, passed away at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma
on March 16, 2016. Mr. Porter was born January 1, 1956 in Kingfisher,
Oklahoma to Frank and Bernice Porter.
Bill gave his life to Christ at a young boy at High Hill Baptist Church
in New Mexico. He graduated high school from Rush Springs in 1973 and
Oklahoma State University in 1980 with an Agricultural Economics degree.
Bill enjoyed his job and co-workers at USDA- Natural Resources Conservation
Service for over 36 years. For the past 21 years he served as the Assistant
State Conservationist for Water Resources and was instrumental in Watershed
Rehabilitation Program nationwide. He also served as a youth football
coach in both Woodward and Stillwater for more than 20 years.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bernice Porter and sister
Survivors include his wife of 28 years Pamela Porter; son: Christopher
Ham, daughter-in-law: Katy Ham; granddaughter: Kelody Ham; niece: Lesli
Cutshall and husband Scott along with daughter Laura; nephew: Marc Holloway
and children Elizabeth and Geoffery; cousins: Jack David and JaneAnn Porter.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the
American Cancer Society.
