David Green was born on March 27, 1955 to James and Frances Green in Tacoma
Washington. They moved to Tulsa when David was three months old and he
spent the rest of his life in the city and state he loved. David passed
away on December 14, 2014 after a struggle with cancer. He is survived
by his mother, Frances Schultz, daughter Jennifer Young and her husband
Lee, son Jordan Green, brother Mike Green and Andrea Spencer, sister Karen
Moll and her husband Rich, brother Robert Green and his wife Joey, and
4 grandchildren, Jacqualynn, Kaleb, Maddie and Paul. David graduated from
Edison High School in 1973 where he had great success on the wrestling
team. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and
friend to so many.
One of David's many passions in life was his career where he was known
for his dedication and loyalty. He truly enjoyed his work and it played
a major role in his life. He started working at B&B Lumber at the
age of 14 and later moved to Mill Creek Lumber where he worked for over
20 years. He enjoyed working with customers and helping them solve their
construction problems. His Mill Creek Mill family has been incredibly
supportive throughout his challenging battle with cancer.
David had many pastimes that filled his life with happiness. He was known
for his woodworking and handyman skills, and helped the entire family
fix and build many things in their homes. Along with family and friends,
David built an A-Frame home at Grand Lake. He loved spending time at the
lake and really enjoyed being on or around the water. One of his best
recent memories was fishing in the Gulf of Mexico on a family vacation.
He bought a fishing pole, waded out in the water and was determined to
catch a fish. While the fish never showed up, David loved the experience
and made it a memorable time for the entire family. He had a passion for
life that was contagious to everybody around him. David was also known
as a caregiver to anyone that needed help. He never knew a stranger, and
will be missed by all that knew him.
