William S. Barry (Bill), was born in Tulsa, OK March 12, 1947 to Jack and
Eve Barry. Bill graduated from Nathan Hale High School where he played
football and was on the wrestling team. He attended Northeastern A&M
College in Miami, OK and Central State University in Edmond, OK, majoring
in Marketing and Business. Bill was a marketing representative in the
insurance business for over forty years. During his career he was named
Fieldman of the year by both the Oklahoma Professional Insurance Agents
and by Gulf Insurance Company.
After 40 years in the insurance industry, Bill decided to pursue other
interests. He worked at the Drillers Ball Park as an usher and as a security
guard at the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department.
He grew up going to the lake every weekend where he enjoyed all sorts of
activities, especially boating and striper fishing. Bill was an active
member of the Lifters Sunday School Class at Christ United Methodist Church.
Over the years, he served as a member of the Finance Committee, Care Calling,
Prison Ministry and as an usher.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Jack Rolfe Barry. He is survived
by his wife of 30 years Brandy B. Barry, his mother Eve C. Barry. His
daughter Barbi Barry Davis (Adam), his two granddaughters Lila and Kate,
and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church
Care Fund, Clarehouse, or Cancer Treatment Center of America. Memorial
services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ United
Methodist Church, 3515 S Harvard Ave, Tulsa, OK 74135
