Billy Mitchel Wade (Bill) was born April 8, 1943, in Tupelo, Oklahoma to
Mitchel Verdell Wade and Lola Inez (Kennedy) Wade. Bill was the third
sibling, to sister’s Darla, Janice and younger brother Gary. Bill
passed from this life on July, 20 2016 at the age of 73.
Bill served his country in the United States Army. Following his military
service, Bill worked several jobs, including as a baker. With those huge
hands of his, he could squeeze out some of the most beautiful, delicate
roses, ever seen on a wedding cake. Despite those talents, when the opportunity
came to follow in his father’s footsteps, Bill didn’t hesitate.
In 1972 he moved back to Muskogee and went to work for the Missouri Pacific
Railroad, (Now Union Pacific) retiring as an Engineer. Bill loved the
railroad and being a railroader.
Bill had a strong work ethic, and a can do attitude, which he passed on
to his children. Bill was an avid reader and self-educated. Despite not
having gone to college, he expected his children to go. Bill loved the
outdoors, was an excellent fisherman and passed that on to generations.
Bill loved his dogs, dogs loved him. Max and Buddy miss you!
Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother Mitchel and Lola Wade,
brother Gary, sisters Darla Wade and Janice Jones. Bill is survived by
his adoring wife of 30 years Christie Wade, son Billy Mitchel Wade Jr.
and his wife Natallie, daughter Jana Kay (Wade) Dunlap and husband Brian.
