Carole Jane Godfrey Joyce was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 2, 1938,
the daughter of Merle and Katherine Godfrey. She died on July 25, 2016,
in Claremore. Carole was preceded in death by her father and mother, and
son Bret Barlow, and is survived by her husband of 40 years, Davis D.

Joyce of Noble and Kirk Joyce of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and brothers

and quickly stepped into the important position of chair of Religion in

her greatest accomplishments was to help start what is known today as
the Oklahoma Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (ORCRC). (She
was an activist for other causes as well, including gay rights and community
Carole was also an excellent writer; her work included a series of guest
