Frank Horn was born in Cardin, OK to Frank E. Horn and Georgia List Horn.
Graduated from Picher, OK high school in 1943, then attended Northeastern
State. He was inducted in to the US Navy on July 1, 1943. After an honorable
discharge in December of '46. Frank attended Pittsburgh State University,
and graduated in 1952. Frank retired from Teledyne Technologies in 1988.
At age 90, he lived a full, rich and independent life, showing his courage,
love of family, gentleness, humility and integrity. While serving in the
Navy, on the USS Shangri-La, he saw action on the Pacific Front but rarely
spoke of it. Frank defined the term, "The Greatest Generation".
In December of '47, Frank married LaVonna McCoy, who passed away in
1983. In 1987, Frank attended his 40 year high school reunion,where he
reconnected with his high school classmate, Garland (Wood) Neel. Frank
and Garland married on May 9, 1987. They were married 23 years. Garland
passed away May 27, 2010. Frank is survived by a niece and her husband,
2 great nephews, 1 great great niece and 1 great great nephew. Also surviving
are 5 stepchildren and spouses, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
