A.C. Saint III was born on September 26, 1940 in Tulsa, OK and went to be with his Heavenly Father on May, 15, 2012.
He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1959. In November of 1963 he married his loving wife, Brenda Sue Pennington. AC joined the Tulsa Fire Department in 1964. The Saint family has a strong history with the Tulsa Fire Department, so it was no surprise when AC followed in his father’s footsteps, and his son, Matt, followed in AC’s footsteps, to carry on the tradition, making a three-generation firefighting family. AC retired as a Captain in 1984. He also served in the United States Army.
Anyone that spent time with AC knew immediately he was a passionate man. His love for racing, and all things related, began at a young age. For 25 years he enjoyed owning, driving, and working on race cars. When he hung up his helmet, he continued his passion through owning and working on sprint cars with his son, granddaughter, and grandson. He also owned ACS Racing Fuels. AC was always a presence in the pits at Tulsa Speedway and Port City on Friday and Saturday nights. If he wasn’t at the race track, you could find him at his race shop, working on the cars, or visiting with racing buddies and retired firemen.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, he and Brenda spent the last 4 years travelling the country in their beautiful motor coach. They took many exciting trips together, but their most memorable were the trips they took with their son Matt and his family. They had great family adventures to South Padre Island, Washington D.C., and Disney World. “Papa”, as Tanner and Travis so fondly called him, loved to drive his family down the highway, with the boys in the passenger seat to keep him company.
AC is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda; daughter, Kim Laskey and her husband, Mark of Tulsa; son, Mathew and his wife, Kristen of Owasso; granddaughter, Taryn Laskey of Tulsa; grandsons, Austin Laskey of Tulsa, Tanner and Travis Saint of Owasso; sister-in-Law, Sharon Baker, and husband, John of Tulsa; sister, Jackie Tanner and husband, John of Tulsa; niece, Michaele Tetrick and husband, Jeff of Tulsa; nephews, Mark McKinney and wife Karen of Irvine, California; Brett Baker and wife, Carey of Tulsa; Roger Reid and wife, Cindy of Tulsa; multiple great-nieces and great-nephews; dear family friends, Harry and Joyce Baker; as well as numerous friends of the Tulsa Fire Department and racing community.
