Charles Eugene Newell, Jr., known to all as "Chip", was born July 22, 1962 in Casa Grande, AZ. The youngest of Charles and Nina Darland Newell, Chip grew up in Arizona and Oklahoma. He briefly joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Knox, KY until he was medically discharged for a knee injury. He lived for many years in Okay, OK and surrounding areas before making his home in Tulsa seven years ago.
Chip enjoyed ministering to others and was proud when he became an ordained minister. He ministered to men, women, and juveniles in area correctional facilities, as well as others he encountered daily. He enjoyed reading to enhance his spiritual journey with Christ. He loved fishing, camping, watching Westerns, painting, cheering on the OSU Cowboys, and truly loved the outdoors!
Chip never hesitated to help a stranger in need and felt best when helping others in even the smallest ways. He was a fighter in all aspects of life, and never hesitated to try something at least once.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Todacheeny. He leaves his son Jason Newell of Sulphur Springs, TX and wife Jennifer; daughter Amber Murray of Mesquite, Texas and husband Shane; daughter Stephanie Drum of Oklahoma; grandchildren Brennon and Lynox Newell of Sulphur Springs, TX; and numerous family, nieces and nephews, and friends.
