Leroy Faucett (Eddie Leroy), was born in Detroit, Texas on March 5, 1930
to Bessie and Eddie Irvin Faucett. Leroy died of complications from an
aneurysm on May 6, 2014 in Oklahoma City.
Leroy attended Draughon’s Business College in Dallas, Texas, graduating
with a degree in Accounting. He went to work for Texaco, first in Dallas,
then to Amarillo, retiring in Tulsa in 1988 as Coordinator, Research and
Planning, Marketing Department, Central Lubricant Division.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Crystal Jean; daughter Donna of
Amarillo, TX; son Richard Lee, his wife Donielle and grandson Eddie Parker
all of Amarillo, TX; step-daughter Darla Janene Harral of Cape Canaveral,
FL; granddaughter Jessica Janene Chandlee of Tulsa; brother Douglas, and
his wife Peggy of Garland, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Jean, the mother
of his three children; older brother Royce; and his youngest son, Robert
Leroy began playing guitar at the time he was in business school and played
and sang country music in many bands over the years. He continued that
love throughout his life, sharing it with his wife Jean. His last “session”
with friends was on Friday, May 2.
A celebration of Leroy’s life will be held at the Fellowship Congregational
Church, 29th and Harvard in Tulsa, on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 12 Noon.
Lunch will be served. Lots of country music will be played and Leroy’s
memory will live on. Country musicians are invited to come, bring their
instrument of choice and join an afternoon of music.
