Obituary

Jeanette Aline Atterbury was born in Broken Arrow, OK, on August 8, 1954 to parents John Henry and Katherine Aline Atterbury. She was a fraternal twin, to brother, James Henry Atterbury. Actually the 3rd set of fraternal twins carried by mother, Katie, and the only set of opposite genders. Jeanette lived with her mother and siblings, Ann Marie and James, until the age of 8, when she was then taken in and raised by her older sister and brother-in-law, Wilma Jean and Rod Weaver. She grew up in Broken Arrow, OK, attended public school there, and also went to church regularly with family, where she really enjoyed praise and worship. She loved to sing and later would also love to play tambourine, along with all of her favorite gospel hymns. She loved her family very much and spent most of her time with them. She was able to stay connected to many loved ones growing up, including siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins on her mother's side of the family, as well as her parents.

Jeanette graduated from Broken Arrow High School in May of 1973. Shortly after, she was introduced to David Lee Bachtold, through a friendship between him and twin brother, James. They were later married in Owasso, both at the age of 19, the 21st of June, in 1974. She and her husband had five children together, Meredith Ann, born in 1976, Matthew Lee, in 1979, fraternal twins, Candace Jean and Cathline Marie, in 1984, and last but not least, Pamela Jo, born in 1986. Jeanette, David, and family lived in Tulsa, OK, in a small community off Mingo Road for several years. Jeanette was a homemaker while her husband was employed at the K-8 school nearby, called Mingo Public Schools, where all five of their children attended. They visited Mingo Baptist Church as a family for a while, where they dedicated their children to the Lord, until Jeanette and family became regular members at a Full Gospel church in Owasso, led by Pastor Flossie Turner. Jeanette loved going to church with her children and extended family members there and spent time with all of them frequently, before and after services. She, her husband, and children moved to Owasso in 1992 after their home, small neighborhood, and community were purchased and cleared by American Airlines. She remained with her husband in their home in Owasso until they would reach almost 50 years of marriage together.

The love of Jesus and the loving support of family carried Jeanette through some of her most difficult times. She loved her friends. She loved her family, and she loved the Lord her God with all of her heart, soul, and mind. Jeanette strived to live her life in such a way, these things were always apparent. She was dearly loved, will be greatly missed, and always remembered for her kind, loving, and gentle heart!

Jeanette is survived by siblings, James, June, & Jane, her three living children, daughters Meredith, Cathy, and Candace, and their spouses. Her sixteen grandchildren, Harley, Garrett, Jessica, Travis, Mason, Jacob, Nevaeh, Anton, Darrell, Liam, River, Ellie, Lacey, Ivory, Aiyana, and Arabella, and her 5 great-grandchildren, AJ, Elijah, Malachi, Silas, and Samantha.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Katie and John Atterbury, several half-siblings on her father's side, Wilbur, Dewayne Thomas, Geraldine, Albert Donald, Margie, and John Henry Junior, her older sisters, Ann Buzzard and Wilma Weaver, her husband, David Bachtold, and her two children Matthew and Pamela Bachtold.
