Obituary

Kenneth David Boyles, 70, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. He was born October 22, 1950 in Cushing, OK, to Kenneth Leo Boyles and Dorris Carrie (Nugent) Boyles, both deceased. David is survived by his three sisters, Karen Fadling, husband Larry; Debby Presley, husband Gene; Barbara Meigs, husband Roy; and their children, his nieces and nephews he loved dearly. David was a loving and playful father, often bringing his children into the garage to tinker on his latest project with him. His children Mindy Sutterfield and daughters Emma and Abby; Michael Boyles, wife Trina Boyles, and children David and Madison; and Joshua Boyles, wife Nashmia Boyles, and son Beckham treasure the time they spent with their dad and Pawpaw and the special relationship he had with each. David graduated high school in Cleveland, OK in 1968, then attended Northeastern State University, Oklahoma State University, and received his associates degree from Tulsa Community College. He had a fulfilling career in laboratory technology at Saint Francis Hospital, Cleveland Area Hospital, and retired from Drumright Memorial Hospital as the Laboratory and X-Ray Director, disappointing the many patients that sought his kind and gentle bedside manner. Family meant everything to David. His parents were treasured and missed greatly, his sisters doted on him and he thought the world of them. David always had a project going: working on a car, home repairs and improvements, and even building a garage. David could work on any engine, a skill he learned from his own Dad. He loved to drive fast, claiming good car maintenance meant blowing the dust out of the engine. David was a jack of all trades and loved a day working with his hands or mowing his lawn - he was known to just keep mowing down the block. His children remember the laughter sitting around the table with their Dad telling funny stories and jokes, and the joy he had making his grandchildren laugh. He was known for being the kind of guy that always helped friends and family, and generous to those in need. A family service will be held at the First Baptist Church Cleveland on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The service can be viewed live on the church's Facebook page.
