Shirley Marie Quaintance, 69, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on December 7, 2017. Open visitation/celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 5-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Shirley Marie Schneider was born on December 25, 1947, to Lawrence and Margaret Schneider, in Madison, SD. She was one of five children. Shirley was raised on a farm in Howard, SD. Growing up, she was very active as a cheerleader, a member of all-state-band playing the clarinet, skiing, and reading. She married John C. Quaintance on December 28, 1968 and they attended the University of South Dakota together. She received her Bachelors in German from USD in 1970. Shirley and John then moved to Sioux Falls, SD. In 1980, she received her Bachelors in accounting and began her accounting career in Sioux Falls. She and John later divorced and she then met her lifelong partner, Jeffrey Cullison. She and Jeffrey had three children together and spent most of their lives in Sioux Falls, until 2011 when they moved to Tulsa, OK. Shirley had recently become a grandmother in the last few years and they were her pride and joy. Shirley was a tremendous mother and significant other who loved to story tell, she was an avid sports fan and could probably win any game show around. Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Robert, and sister Lillian Petrik. She is survived by her longtime partner Jeff, daughter Sarah Cullison, sons Mark (Megan), and Anthony Cullison, two grandchildren Anna and Lex Cullison, and sisters Connie (Larry) Levering, and Dorothy (Bob) Payne.
