Obituary

Zara Ann Zoellner McKinney Zara Zoellner McKinney passed away on March 23, 2014. She was born on June 7, 1929 to Frederic and Helen Zoellner of Tonganoxie, KS and graduated from Monticello Preparatory School and the University of Kansas. She worked at Gulf Oil as a secretary and married Jim McKinney on August 30, 1952. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1955 and returned to Tulsa in 1973. Always one to find a bargain, she was one of the founding owners of Classy Consignments, consignment store for children's clothing, where she retired in 1993. She treasured her sisterhood in Kappa Kappa Gamma, Chapter EC of PEO and Assistance League of Tulsa, as well as her extended family at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church and Inverness Village. A passionate Jayhawk basketball fan, she was an adept bridge player, knitter and pianist. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Young (Rick) and Janet Crawford (David); son, Ric (Brigitte); 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will have a celebration of life service at 1:00 pm on March 27th at St. Dunstan's with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Assistance League Tulsa (3408 East 11th Street, Tulsa OK 74112) or Oklahoma State PEO Project Fund.
