Alf Landon (Lanny) Ham was born June 1, 1936 in Dodge City, Kansas, as the 5th son of Roscoe and Yolande Ham. He grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas, graduating from Polytechnic High School. He attended Arlington State College for two years and went on to Texas AM, where he graduated in 1958 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Lanny took his first engineering job in 1959 in Oklahoma City. He was active in a singles group at St. Lukes Methodist Church where he met Suzann Keely for the first time. They were married on June 24, 1967 and moved to Tulsa a few years later, where they joined Asbury United Methodist Church and where Lanny worked with several oil and gas processing companies before retiring. He was also treasurer of the Tulsa Aggie Club. In 1980, Lanny and his wife Suzann formed a partnership with Jim and Jane McKinney and opened The Apple Tree, where Lanny worked fulltime following his retirement from engineering. Lanny is survived by three of his five brothers, Roderick, Ross, and Guy; his wife, Suzann, and their three children and their spouses, Karen Ham, Kyle Ham and Kathy Stolarz, and Lana and Steve Ortwein; and his two granddaughters Hayley Beth and Madelyn Marie Ortwein. Memorial services will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK on Monday, November 25th at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Texas AM 12th Man Foundation, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research, or Asbury United Methodist Church.
