Alice Stanford, 78, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2019. She was born in Bismarck, Arkansas on December 15, 1940. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie & Bruzer Garrett, husband, Frank Thomason, Jr., and son, Matthew. Her passion was to be a good mother and grandmother. She will be remembered as being a loving and selfless person, mother, grandmother, and friend whose faith in God never wavered under any circumstance. Alice never turned down a chance to hold a baby or play bridge. Alice is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Michael & his wife, Kris and their children, Lucas, Maya and Benjamin ; grandchildren, Isabelle & Cooper Thomason and their mother, Amy Payton, stepson, Scott Thomason, his daughters, Jennie Canzoneri , Rachael Thomason , their families and several nieces, nephews and other family members. She is also survived by Charles' children, Cary Epstein & husband, Michael, Christopher Stanford, & spouse, Jenn Mason, and Laura Stanford, & spouse, Tammy, and numerous friends that have shown their love and support during her life. Alice loved spending time with her family and friends, as she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. After graduating high school from Bismarck High School in 1958, she attended Henderson State College and graduated with a degree in education in 1962. Upon graduation, she moved to Tulsa, where she worked for Shell Oil for 2 ½ years. This is where she met her future husband, Frank Thomason, Jr, who passed away on January 26, 1996. Alice then devoted her time as a homemaker and to raising her children. She worked at Amoco Production for 12 ½ years and later worked for DCP Midstream 12 ½ years and then retired. Alice and Charles Stanford married March 17, 2009. After retirement, Alice & Charles enjoyed traveling going on many wonderful trips. Alice was a long-time member of College Hill Presbyterian Church where she and Charles met.. Her faith was very important to her and she displayed it daily. Those around her were uplifted by her smile and selfless, kind spirit and zealous faith. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Alice's memory to the American Cancer Society, College Hill Presbyterian Church, or to a charity of your choice.
