Anthony was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Moton Hospital to Vernon R. McFarlin and Pauline McFarlin. He was the first born of four children and grew up in Tulsa. Anthony professed a hope in Christ at an early age and lived a life of caring. He entered the United States Marine Corp after graduating from Central High School. While serving, one of the duties he was assigned to was the building of bombs. He found this both interesting and a bit scary. He was honorably discharged March 9, 1977. After leaving the military he worked at a variety of jobs. His employment ranged from filling tanker cars, working in nursing homes, and working hospital maintenance. Anthony was kind hearted and had a great sense of humor. Even though he faced serious health issues he kept a positive attitude and he always found a way to laugh. Left to remember and rejoice is his daughter Julie McFarlin-Sartin (Edward), grandsons: Langston and Edward Sartin, Caleb Joseph, his sisters: Antionette Tooks (Lawrence), Pamela Hunt (Patrick), and Territa Nathan (Cornell), many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncle and a host of friends and of course his best friend Cedrick Anderson.
