Anwar Al-Arahshun was born on June 9, 1962 in Wilmington, Delaware. He was the oldest son of Susie Walls-Watson and Nathaniel Watson. Anwar departed this life on July 22, 2015 after a short illness in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was educated in the city of Wilmington, Delaware Public School System. He was recognized for his skill in drawing, painting and running track. During his track years he developed a winning stride that often placed his name in the high section of the newspaper. His teammates gave him the nickname 'The Ostrich.' After graduating high school, Anwar left Delaware to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Anwar was very ambitious and always believed in getting and keeping a job; so much that he often times would work more than one job at a time. Some of the places were fast food restaurants and furniture auction establishments. He eventually landed a job as an orthopedic technician at St. Francis Hospital. However, his main love was being self-employed where he owned and operated his own business, one of them was a moving company called 'Haul for Less', and a lawn service where he offered mowing and yard maintenance services. While employed he was blessed to have made the acquaintances and friendships of special individuals that lasted a lifetime, all of which are here today. Anwar loved Oklahoma. He embraced the way of life, the people and the culture. He even became proficient at making Indian jewelry. Anwar leaves to cherish his memory, 4 sons: Antah Al-Arahshun, Jamil Bush, Nuredin Al-Arahshun and Nizar Al-Arahshun all of Oklahoma, 1 daughter: Nada Al-Arahshun of North Carolina; Phyllis Crook, a very loving and devoted companion and caregiver of 18+ years; mother: Susie Watson; father: Nathaniel Watson; 5 sisters: Trudy Davis, Derian Wright, Natalie Nash, Deborah Omowunmi all of Delaware and Carmen Watson of Maryland; 5 brothers: Terence Walls, Orrin Watson, Kenneth Watson, Leland Watson all of Delaware and Michael Watson of Pennsylvania; 1 beautiful granddaughter: Karsen Thompson and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
