Barbara L. Coats, age 74 passed away Wednesday November 4, 2015 in Collinsville, OK. Barbara was born June, 8th 1941 in Palmyra, IL to Othie Raymond and Laura Violetta DeWitt. Barbara completed high school and tech classes, she started a career as a secretary in the telephone industry. Barbara is survived by her husband: Edward Coats, son: Edward Coats Jr., daughters: Sharon Lankford and Pamela Creek (husband Michael), 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Dorothy Escobar (husband Victor), Sandra Mitchell (husband Clyde), Linda Long (Husband Otto), Gail Stanifer (husband Carl), and Vicky Anderson; 3 brothers: Raymond DeWitt (wife Jeannie), Lyndall DeWitt, David DeWitt (wife Sharon) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; father: Othie R. DeWitt, mother: Laura V. DeWitt, brothers: Terry and Lanny DeWitt, grandson: Austin Lankford. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Ooloagah Church of Christ located at 13800 S. 4080 Rd.
