Bert (Granny) was born in 1952 in Portsmouth, VA to Jose and Beatrice Respicio. The family moved to Shawnee, OK where she attended and graduated from Tecumseh High School In 1970. She has been happily married to Jeral Owens for the last 25 years. Granny devoted her life to her sons, grands and great-grands. She loved substitute teaching, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma City Thunder, and her Chamorro heritage. Throughout her life, Bert put others first because it made her happy to see others happy. Bert is survived by her husband, Jeral and 5 sons: Chad, Chris (sp. Anna), Richie (sp. Stephanie), Ronald (sp. Susan) and Rodney (sp. Stephanie). She is also survived by 9 granddaughters, 7 grandsons, 7 great-grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters, 14 brothers and sisters, and countless nieces and nephews. She is reuniting with those who have preceded her in her journey: Dad Jose, Dad Ernie, Mom - Beatrice, 4 brothers Robert, Ronald, Joseph, Patrick, 1 sister Julie, and 1 niece Leah. She will be deeply missed. Her memories will live on forever in the hearts of those she loved and touched. Services will be held Saturday, July 21, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Oolagah.
