Bessie Jean Weems, age 83, passed from this life on August 1st, 2015 in Hugo, Oklahoma. Bessie was born February 13, 1932 in Antlers, Oklahoma to George Bertie Thompson. Bessie was a longtime resident of Antlers, Oklahoma where she worked many years at the Antlers Nursing Home as a Nurse's Aide. Bessie enjoyed reading. She also loved gardening and spending time with family and friends. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Weems and her son, Jimmy Lynn Hedgecock. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Gahm; grandson, Orbie Gahm; niece, Annice Alcorn and husband Wayne and many more nieces, nephews and other loving family. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Bessies life will be held in October.
