Betty Lou Stewart passed away very peacefully on October 17, 2019 surrounded by her family. She undoubtedly was first in line, one hour early, at heaven's gates. Betty joined this world on September 9, 1931 with her twin brother and closest childhood confidante, Robert Leroy. The twins were born to Leroy and Gladys Stewart in Kansas City, Kansas. As an Air Force wife, Betty moved 37 times, all over the world. Because of her kindness and sweet spirit, Betty was blessed with many lifelong friends. Betty absolutely loved to play bridge and achieved the status of Life Master. She cherished her time on the dance floor, was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and loved her life in Huntington Beach, California. Betty is survived by her son, Tim Briscoe, daughter, Cathy Timmermans, their spouses, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Betty doted on her family and never missed a birthday, holiday or special occasion. Selfless to a fault, she always put others first and found unique ways to make others feel special. Where Mom went, the sunshine followed. Her company and conversation were soothing, comforting and full of gratitude and joy. She is also survived by 2 loving sisters, Dorothy Emery and Marian Sarantha and a very special sister in law, Jean Staton. Our family is thankful for the years of shared traveling adventures and life lessons as Mom lived a life of faith, hope, strength, laughter and love. We are comforted in the knowledge that Pop, Gladys and Bob were waiting for her and that someday we will all be together again.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever Psalm 23:6.
