Our Beloved Mother, Betty Jane Taylor Montgomery, passed from this life at her home, on March 14, 2013 at the age of 80 years old. Betty is lovingly remembered by her children; Michael, Cynthia, Ferrell, and Mark, her daughters-in-law; Lucia and Kelly, her grandchildren; Melissa, Christina, Tracy and Mark, Taylor and Spencer, Katelyn, Connor and Chloe, and her large extended family in Virginia and Louisiana. Betty was born in Poquoson, Virginia, August 29, 1932. She left Virginia in the early 1950s to work. She was married to Coy Montgomery for 24 years. She was an administrative assistant with Sun Oil for 26 years, also retired from the City of Newport News urban-planning, and for the last several years she worked at the Central Tag Agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was actively involved in her sorority, the Omega Pi chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha that works to benefit St. Jude childrens hospital and other charities and also an active member with the Depression Glass Club. Betty also enjoyed volunteering with the Hillcrest Hospital Auxiliary which she did for many years. She was also a member of the Tulsa Elks lodge, which she loved. The family wishes to acknowledge John Sawyer as the officiating minister and family friend and to thank the sisters of Omega Pi. In lieu of flowers, our mother would appreciate donations to St. Judes or the charity of your choice in her name. Mom, we love you. You will never be forgotten.
