Beverly Ann Pering, 85, passed peacefully on August 14, 2026, with her family by her side. She was married to the love of her life, Bob, for 64 years.

Beverly attended school in Jett, Oklahoma, and later in Minneapolis, Kansas, where she graduated from high school. She met Bob in Topeka, Kansas, and they were married in December 1961. In 1963, they moved to San Diego, California, where they raised their family and lived for more than 50 years before eventually moving to Oklahoma. It was in San Diego that their two children, Randy and Deborah, were born.

Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis; her mother, Ruby; her stepfather, Dwight; and her sister-in-law, Debbie. Dennis held a very special place in Beverly's heart. He had Down syndrome, and Beverly loved him deeply. The compassion and unconditional love she had for Dennis was a beautiful reflection of the way she cared for others throughout her life.

Beverly was full of life and brought joy wherever she went. She loved to sing and dance, was a cheerleader, and was very active in her community. Music was always an important part of the Pering family. In their younger years, Beverly and Bob played music with friends and enjoyed going to live concerts and fairs. Her longtime best friend, Pat, was also her musical companion. Together, they played the accordion, sang, and performed at festivals. Music remained a special and joyful part of Beverly’s life throughout the years.

Beverly was a hardworking and determined woman who took great pride in providing for and caring for her family. She took accounting classes and worked her way up through her various jobs, eventually becoming a supervisor and office manager. She was a wonderful manager, mentor, and friend, and her peers and co-workers loved and respected her. She worked long hours while also caring for her family and keeping their home running—cooking, cleaning, caring for her children, and making sure everyone had what they needed. Her strength, work ethic, and devotion to her family were an important part of who she was.

She also had a heart for serving others. When her children were young, she volunteered at their elementary school as a teacher's aide, where she especially loved working with children with special needs. In later years, she enjoyed working in the kitchen at her daughter's church, helping prepare Sunday breakfast for the church family.

What those who knew Beverly will remember most was her beautiful smile and the joy she spread wherever she went. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making everyone feel loved and special. She was warm, huggable, and lovable, and she never met a stranger. Whenever Beverly and Bob attended a gathering, Bob would joke that he would have about 15 minutes with her before she got up and made her way around the room. By the end of the night, everyone knew Mom.

Beverly loved sports and got Randy and Deborah involved at an early age. She and Bob rarely missed a game, and her voice could always be heard from the stands encouraging them to "hustle," "look alive," or celebrating with a "good eye" or "great pass." All of their friends called her Mom, and they were always greeted with one of her hugs.

Deborah also shared many special memories of attending San Diego Padres games with Mom. Through Mom's boss, Bing, they were fortunate enough to share front-row season tickets, creating many treasured memories together.

Beverly had a wonderful gift for making ordinary days feel like adventures. When her children and grandchildren were young, she would search the newspaper for free festivals, concerts, and other events, pack a lunch and snacks, and make a day of it. She taught her family that you didn't have to spend a lot of money to have a great time together. She was always up for an adventure—even getting Randy and Deborah out of bed at 3:00 a.m. to camp out in front of a radio station so they could meet Donny and Marie. When they were young, the drive-in was another favorite tradition. Mom would pack the ice chest and hand out food and drinks throughout the movie, eventually laughing, "Hey, I want to watch the movie too!" Those simple outings became some of the family's fondest memories.

Holidays and birthdays were always special because of Beverly. She showered her family with gifts, let them choose their birthday meal, and made their cakes from scratch. Her family has many fond memories of baking and laughing together. She even made many of their Halloween costumes, including Randy's Planet of the Apes costume and Deborah's I Dream of Jeannie costume.

Beverly's greatest joy was her family, and they were blessed by the love, laughter, encouragement, and memories she gave them throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob; her son, Randy Pering, and his wife, Ann-Marie, of California; and her daughter, Deborah Ahearn, and her husband, Tim, of Oklahoma.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Palmer and her husband, Trent; Dustin Pering, a newly appointed officer of the North Las Vegas Police Department; Nicole Miller and her fiancé, Bronson McKie; and Josh Hackelberg and his wife, Christina. Her great-grandchildren include Charlotte, Sadie, Dean, Grant, Makenzi, Jaxson, Nayomi, Carter, and Xavier.

Beverly is also survived by her brother, Steve Bratcher, and his wife, Linda; her nephew, John Bratcher, and his wife, Riki, her nephew Aaron, and niece Cindy.

Deborah said, "I will miss her presence, and yet I am so grateful to have all of these wonderful memories with her. Mom was my buddy, and it was always an adventure when we went somewhere together. We used to joke that we were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and there was never a dull moment when we were together. I will miss having my buddy by my side, but I will forever be grateful for all the laughter, adventures, and wonderful memories we shared."

Beverly leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, hugs, smiles, music, and memories that will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. Her joyful spirit will be deeply missed, but her love will live on through her family and all the lives she touched.
