Billy Joe Lewis was born on May 5th, 1937 to William Carl Lewis and Evelyn McElroy of Bixby, Oklahoma. He went to be with our Lord February 6, 2019. Bill lived most of his life in Oklahoma. He graduated from Bixby High School. Bill was an Air Force Veteran, serving as a Medic shortly after graduating high school. Early on Bill was in finance. While working for Limerick Finance he met his one great love Cyndy. They were married November 14th, 1959 at the Springdale, Arkansas Church of Christ. There were two children born to this wedlock, a daughter Cyndy Jo Senff of Del Valle, Texas and a son Billy Joe Preston Lewis of Tulsa. Bill moved from finance to car sales and worked for numerous Tulsa area dealerships over the years before retiring. Bill was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother, sister and son Billy Joe Preston Lewis. A foster daughter came into his life in 1980. Bill is survived by his daughter Cyndy Jo Senff and her husband Mike Mobley, grandchildren Preston Lewis, Amber Lewis and Kyle Ferguson. As well as his foster daughter Sandra Tate, foster granddaughter Amanda Philpott and 3 foster great grandchildren-Eryn Tatro, Riley Boyett, Braden Philpott. All of whom he was extremely proud. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and passed these interests on to both his children. In the late 80's he started attending dog shows with his daughter Cyndy Jo and his late wife where they made many friends. Bill loved staying in touch with all the dog show people he met in person and online. He was mostly responsible for his daughter's passion for Dachshunds. Her older brother being a small red male standard named Fritz. Bill left this earth fast when his time was over, as he wanted. He was a force in life and in leaving it. Truly something to aspire to as he was still independent, driving 8 hours to Austin to visit his daughter, left his house daily maintaining his routine. Bill was generally very on top of it at nearly 82 years. However, he missed his Cyndy greatly, now they are together again. Rest in Peace Bill, you had a good run. Memorial Service-Saturday March 30th, 2019 at 10:30 am at Stanley's Funeral Service Chapel 3959 E. 31st Tulsa, OK 74135. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to The American Lung Association, Bill's charity of choice since the death of his wife Cyndy in 2010. Donations may be made in memory of Bill J.
