Obituary

CAROL LYNN, RODECKER/MANUEL, a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on January 19th, 2021 at the age of 73. Carol was born on March 2, 1947 to Robert (Bob) Lee and Dorothea (Dot) Evelyn Rodecker. Carol was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School; Tulsa, Oklahoma, Class of 1965. Carol spent her entire career serving the medical industry as a Medical Records and Bookkeeping Specialist. She had a passion and unique talent for helping people during difficult times. She will be remembered as a kind, generous, fun, and independent woman who opened her heart and home to family, friends, and many animals. Nothing gave Carol more joy than rescuing and nurturing an animal in need of a home. She also thoroughly enjoyed family game nights, trips to the lake, the sound of thunder, bird watching, and leisurely family meals filled with conversation. Carol's favorite meal was a tie between Mexican food and "breakfast for dinner". She is also legendary for her ability to make a delicious casserole out of random things from the pantry. Growing up, Carol enjoyed the Tulsa State Fair, Bells Amusement Park, bowling and miniature golf. Carol loved to dance and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, Frankie Valli, Jerry Lee Lewis, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, George Straight and the band Alabama. Her favorite movies were "The Bird Cage, Grease, Smokey & the Bandit, Folks, West Side Story and Dances with Wolves." Carol is survived by family members including, her daughter, Tracy Dawn Groom and son-in-law, David Allen Groom of Austin, Texas and her daughter Jamie Lynn Lilleskau of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Carol is also survived by her stepson, Robert Anthony (Tony) Manuel and daughter-in-law Chellie Ann of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and her stepson, Bryan Joseph Manuel and daughter-in-law, Kristy of Phoenix, Arizona. Carol also played a significant role in the life of her beloved niece, Marie McKenzie of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additionally, Carol is dearly loved and survived by her mother Dorothea (Dot) Rodecker, her sister Robie Lea Chambers, brotherin-law James (Jim) Chambers, cousin, Scott Downing and wife Lanette Downing, nephew Gregory Wayne Strickland and Victoria Annesley. Carol's grandchildren include Adam Heitman, Josh Heitman, Britnee Manuel, Bryce Manuel and Chase Manuel. Many of Carol's family members predeceased her including, her father Robert Lee Rodecker, grandparents Phillip and Maude Eppler, her aunt and uncle, Jim and Wilma Downing, her stepson, Michael Manuel, her spouse, Robert Junior Manuel, and her former spouses William C. Aaron and John Robert Lilleskau. Carol is deeply missed by all including her precious kitties, Judah, Kayleigh, and Alley.
