Carol Uhles, born June 2, 1952 in Joplin, MO, died on March 15th, 2020 in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her father, George Jackson Uhles "Bob", mother, Helen Malone Powell Uhles, and son, Cody David Briley. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Meredith Briley, and grandchildren: Jack and Anna. Carol is also survived by her siblings, Maggie Minton of TX, and nephews, Robert Johnson of GA and Steven Johnson of OK. sister, Bobbie Montgomery of WA and family, and brother, Roger Nabozny of AK. Carol is also survived by her soul sister, Marilyn Koontz, Meredith's mom whom she found later in life and her husband Chris. Carol's legacy is loving big. Her heart knew no bounds. She never turned away a good time and was determined to find joy in every situation. One of her Dad's friends described her as "the most spirited girl-free and full of life, gorgeous and gregarious. Whoever met [her], had to love [her]." Her son Cory said, "My mom was somebody's smile everyday." What he meant by that is that she sought out everyday opportunities to spread love and happiness. She also had an even keel to recognize that life would throw you curve balls and to life she would answer unafraid "What are you gonna do? Don't worry be happy" because Carol understood every day was a choice. She was a volunteer at the hospital, she sold concessions at the ball field to raise money for the team, she sheparded countless kids to games, recitals, and school. She showed up. She loved big. Carol once told her long-time friend and companion Scott, "I love; that's my thing." So love big and "kissy, kissy". There will be a private family gathering to celebrate Carol's life.
