Catherine Ann Ibrahim was born in Oklahoma on July 12, 1941 to Cora Ethel and Walter Earp. As a young child Ann was orphaned by her birth parents, and at the age of 8 was adopted and raised by Ruth and Homer Garrison of Tulsa. She graduated from Edison High School, attended Grinnell University and received her degree from the University of Oklahoma. While at OU, Ann met and married Adel Ibrahim. They moved to Cairo, Egypt for the first few years of marriage, where Ann taught English at the American University in Cairo. Upon return to the States she pursued a career as an advocate of health and human services, working as a counselor at Tulsa Psychiatric and the Children�s Medical Center, and then as a coordinator with the Magic Empire Council of Girl Scouts. Ann truly loved people and treasured her close relationships with friends and neighbors; she never met a stranger. Among the groups in which she was active, the members of the LRY group at All Souls Unitarian Church, and The Mermaids of St. Johns Siegfried Fitness Center held a special place in her heart. Ann loved nature, animals, gardening, reading, and any opportunity for creativity. She was a remarkably strong and unfailingly positive person who always had a smile for others and loved to laugh. She was a wonderful mother, both for her daughter and for those she met throughout her life who just �needed a mom for a moment�. Ann passed from this life on April 24, 2018 from cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Adel Ibrahim, and daughter and son-in-law Sherry and David Beach. In lieu of a service, Ann wanted those who knew her to celebrate her life and her memory in their own way. Rather than flowers, for those who wish a donation to the Humane Society of Tulsa may be made in her name.
