IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Damon Paul
Fell
April 5, 1948 – September 19, 2025
Damon Paul Fell, 77, was born April 5, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Riley and Milly Fell. He passed away on September 19, 2025.
Damon moved with his family to Tulsa during junior high and attended Cascia Hall Preparatory and Central High School, graduating in 1967. He went on to earn his degree from the University of Tulsa, becoming a lifelong supporter of the University and a regular attendee at Golden Hurricane basketball games. Friends and family remember Damon for his humor, kind heart, and gift for making everyone feel welcome.
Soccer was Damon's lifelong passion. He played the game into his sixties, treasuring the camaraderie, friendships and joy it brought him. He devoted many hours to coaching youth teams for his children, nephews and friends, creating lasting memories on and off the field. He also spent many hours advocating for the sport throughout the state of Oklahoma.
At just fifteen, Damon took his first job at the Brook Theatre, a role that grew into managing multiple movie theatres in Tulsa and even appearing in the classic film The Outsiders. He later transitioned into a successful sales career with Moulder Oldham, Advertising Novelties, and Halo Branded Solutions. His natural charisma, quick wit, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone meant he truly never met a stranger.
Damon was also an avid community volunteer, giving generously of his time to many organizations. Most notably, he dedicated more than two decades to Tulsa Oktoberfest, serving on the working committee and as Chair of the Sports Café Tent. He combined two of his passions as a founder of the "Soktoberfest" soccer tournament.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane; his three children, Erica (Alex), Benjamin, and Rebecca (Tony); and his beloved grandchildren: Zachary, Mia, Hailey, Owen, Lyla, Aubrey, Kaedyn, and Marquise. He also leaves behind his siblings Martha Desmond (John), Michael Fell, Brigid Schluneger, Monica Barbour (Tom), Mary Sadler (Mark), Grace Regan (Jerry), and Gerard Fell (Jill), as well as his sisters-in-law Margie Fell and Dale Manovill (Mike). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Damon was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Milly Fell, his brothers, Mark and James and brother-in-law, Bill Schluneger.
Damon's legacy is one of humor, love, generosity, and connection. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his dogs Coby and Daisy, who brought him a lot of joy. His spirit lives on in the laughter he shared, friends he made, the young people he coached, and the many lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
