Obituary

Daniel Claude Boone, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, entered heaven on April 4, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa.

Daniel was born on August 28, 1932 in Fredericka, Delaware son of Lawrence and Rachel (Kemp) Boone. Daniel graduated from Caesar Rodney High School class of 1951. Daniel served in the armed forces in the Korean War. Following his service he married Nora Elizabeth Bunting and started his career as a design draftsman.

At one point he worked for the International Latex Corporation in Dover, Delaware. There he was privileged to help design the Apollo Spacesuits in the 60's. Because of his work, his signature was placed on the moon by the astronauts.

Later in his career after moving to West Virginia, he worked as a project manager for different companies designing bridges and gas plants.

Daniel had an amazing sense of humor and loved telling stories and jokes. He enjoyed seeing others laugh and as a result had some wonderful long term friendships. He loved telling others he was a direct descendent of Daniel Boone.

Daniel loved fishing, crabbing, gardening, and playing cards and horseshoes. Daniel also enjoyed attending church and was baptized by immersion at the age of 89.

Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Elizabeth Boone who he married on December 24, 1954, a infant son and a grandson, Nicholas Aaron Boone.

Daniel is survived by three children, Dana Claudia Boone-Price, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Daniel Claude Boone Jr., Harrington, DE, Darrell Clark Boone and Sherry, Clarksburg, WV; six grandchildren, Colby Price, Daniel Boone III, David Boone, Darrell Boone II, and Lindsey, Christopher Nathan Boone and Jackie; seven great grandchildren, Darrell III, Colin, Pressley, Daniel, Joshtin, Avaya, and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews.

Daniel is also survived by his precious sister, Fay Freeman of Milford, Delaware, and a special nephew, Carroll "Sonny" Boone also of Milford.

Daniel chose cremation. There will be no services in Oklahoma. A celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date in Delaware. Arrangement made by Cremation Society of Oklahoma, 918-499-8787.
