David Robert Olson died on August 13, 2025 at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK after a short illness. He was 74.

Raised in the Chicago area he graduated from Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois in 1969. He graduated from Tuland University in New Orleans, LA with honors in 1973. He went on to complete both a Master's and PhD degree (1983) in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. David was a college professor at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky and served a term as President of the Kentucky Psychological Association. He taught psychology courses for 28 years before retiring and moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carole Jarvis Olson, along with sisters Sarah Olson (Paul Swanson), Ann Olson (Steven J. Wheeler). He is also survived by five nieces and a nephew. David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Caryl Waldecher Olson.

A lifelong learner, David continued to take courses in religion and philosophy at Tulsa University and enjoyed reading a wide variety of books. He also enjoyed spending time with his close-knit group of neighbors and his two dogs. He was an active member of the All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa and his neighborhood association.

Plans for a memorial service are pending.
