Dearld "Rodney" Herd was born September 9, 1948 in Coweta, Oklahoma to JR and Jerry Herd. Rodney married the love of his life, Sharon "Sue" on September 12, 1966. They spent 52 wonderful years together in Sapulpa, Oklahoma where they raised their 2 children, Perry and Stacy. Rodney loved to fish and spend time outdoors as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He was a welder for several years and later became a quality control inspector. He will be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband and father. Those left to cherish Rodney's memory include his mother: Jerry Herd of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; wife: Sharon "Sue" Herd of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; son: Perry Herd and wife, Jaci Herd of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; daughter: Stacy Childress of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; sister: Marjory Taylor and husband, John of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren including: Brandon Childress and wife Amanda of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Bailey Tena and husband, Omar of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Timothy Childress of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Ethan Herd of Sapulpa; 3 nieces; and 2 nephews.
