Obituary

Dewey William Campbell Sr. went to be with the Lord on March 13th, 2018. Dewey was born in Flint, Michigan November 20th, 1929 and spent many years working and serving in the surrounding communities. He was known for being a Jack of all Trades, and that was exemplified by the various jobs and volunteer opportunities he held. Dewey served in the Navy Reserves, followed by active duty. While on active duty he served his county during the Korean War. Throughout his years in Michigan he was actively involved in the local church where his servant heart blessed many people. Dewey was a police officer for the Akron Police Department. He also worked a number of years as a mechanic, including having his own shop. In 1983 he followed Gods calling on his family to move with Janny Greins ministry to Oklahoma, but when she moved elsewhere Dewey knew his family was home. He began his own company doing various jobs for anyone who needed his help. He was actively involved in Grace Fellowship for a number of years. Prompting from his wife Connie and his heart to serve lead him to cross paths with a gentleman named Willie George. That relationship led to a twenty six and a half year career at Church on the Move that began at age 61. Most people are thinking about retirement at that age, but he was just beginning. During his many years of service he worked at Camp Dry Gulch, ran the bus shop and serviced the churchs bus ministry each week, worked on the maintenance staff, and spent his last years as a locksmith. Those were a few of the positions he held as a job and he enjoyed them all, but what he most enjoyed was all the people it brought into his life. He loved people and was forever grateful for opportunities to serve others. Although he could be counted on to do many jobs himself; Dewey always knew who to call to get any job done. To know Dewey was to love him and he will be deeply missed by multitudes of friends and family, both near and far. Dewey is survived by his wife Connie Campbell; his children Kathrine Capling, Dewey (Billy) Campbell Jr., Melody Boulden, step-son Mark Hall, and Timothy Campbell; two sisters, a brother, and several grand/great-grand kids. He is preceded in death by his parents, a step-son, and a sister. Service: 03/22/2018 00:00 2:00 p.m. Church on the Move 1003 North 129th East Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma
