Obituary

Diana Fenton Hale, 83, of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, February 3, 2024. Diana was born on May 1, 1939 in Tulsa, OK to Dean Wallace Fenton and Faye Evelyn McCall Fenton.

As a small child she lived in Galveston, TX and Birmingham, AL while her dad Dean Fenton served in the Army during WWII. After the war ended Diana, her parents, and baby sister Dale returned to Tulsa.

Diana graduated from Will Rogers High, attended Oklahoma State University for 1 semester until she quit to follow her heart to Long Beach, California where her high school sweetheart Jeff was going to college. While they were in California, not content with just being a housewife, Diana worked at a Savings & Loan and then for a patent attorney. They left California, when Jeff, now her husband, was accepted into the Doctoral Program in the English Department at University of Virginia. While in Virginia, Diana worked as the Secretary of the Art Department. After completion of his Doctorate Jeff & Diana moved to St. Louis, MO where Jeff was an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Washington University. While in St. Louis, Diana and Jeff divorced and Diana returned to Tulsa along with her cat.

Upon her return to Tulsa, Diana rented an apartment near Utica Square and adopted a second cat to provide company to the cat she brought from St. Louis. Seeking to put her administrative talents to use, she worked at the law firm where one of the Senior Partners was a part owner of the Tulsa World allowing the firm to provide legal services to the Tulsa Tribune. Diana's responsibilities gave her the opportunity to showcase her administrative skills and her ability to remember even the smallest of details were greatly appreciated by the lawyers.

In the early 1970's Diana married Dr. Arthur E. Hale II, a respected medical doctor with long standing in the Tulsa medical Community. Diana was active in helping Art establish his successful practice. After their divorce in the early 1980's, they remained close friends and involved in each other's lives. When Art's health began to fail, Diana continued to care for Art.

In the mid-eighties Diana met and began a relationship with Bob Morse that would last until her passing. Diana was an integral part of Azure Energy, Ltd. that Bob and a friend founded. As the company began acquiring producing wells in Oklahoma she worked tirelessly by his side. She was an essential part of Azure until she retired in 2005.

Diana and Bob shared many hobbies and were supporters of the University of Tulsa Football and Basketball programs. They traveled to Alaska twice for Thanksgiving Basketball Tournaments and to Hawaii once for a football game. They both shared a passion for rescuing animals. Many veterinarians knew they could be counted on to adopt the animals no one wanted.

Diana was a generous and loving friend. Her friends were from all walks of life both younger and older. Diana had a big spirit and was very energetic. Always being willing to lend a hand. She had numerous interests, two that were dear to her heart were Animal Aid of Tulsa and volunteering at the American Red Cross. She was active politically both as a Republican and eventually a Democrat. She had a curious mind and was interested in learning. While not a "religious" person she was open minded and encouraged others to believe in what fit them. For many years, she was as an active member at HOPE. Diana could be counted on to provide a beautiful flower / plant arrangement or a meal to someone. She shared Bob's passion for travel and all things trains. She was a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews.

Diana had many fond memories and stories about her sister Dales children, nephews Darin Davis and Dean Davis, and niece Danyel Cousins.

Diana was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2017. Fortunately, she was able to continue to live at home with Bob and her beloved pets. Thanks to proceeds from a long-term care plan Diana and Bob were able to have care givers come in and help keep her comfortable. Diana passed peacefully on the morning of February 3, 2024.
