DONALD LEE CALL
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald L. Call announces his passing on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Inverness Village, where he and his wife, Charlotte, reside. He was born June 30, 1928 in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Homer and Stella (Kennedy) Call, the youngest of four children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lela (Kadau), Loyd and Kenneth Call. Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Charlotte, of 71 years, and their three children, Michael and wife Rebecca, Darla (Terrell) and husband Paul, and Janeen (Miller) and husband John, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Donald was a prominent businessman in the grocery business and a dedicated family man, promoting good work ethics in his children and grandchildren. Attending their school activities and sporting events was one of the many highlights of his life.
Donald was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and golf until physical limitations took their toll. He was also a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and the Lions Club International Foundation, where he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated humanitarian services.
A Celebration of Donald's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Inverness Village, Founders Hall at 3800 West 71st Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Rick Davis, Chaplain of Inverness, officiating. Arrangements are being provided by Cremation Society of Oklahoma with burial at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Cedar Vale, Kansas at a later date.
