Donald Miles Frank, 93, was born in Oilton, Oklahoma, and grew up in Tulsa, where he graduated from Central High School in 1939. He graduated from Oklahoma A M College (OSU) in 1943 with a degree in Business Administration. In 1944-1945 Don served as a pilot with the 389 th bomber group of the 8 th Air Force, based in England. He flew B-24 bombers on missions over Germany. Don married Mary Anna Hazelton, of Columbus, Ohio, in 1944, and after the war they made their home in Tulsa. They had two children, Bonnie and Andy. As president of the Mid Continent Map company, Don published abstract maps for the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma and several other states. He retired in 1982. In high school he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and when he became a father, he continued to be active with the Boy Scouts of America. In college, he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and he was instrumental in re-establishing the chapter at OSU in 2000. Don loved hunting, fishing, playing poker, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and listening to Rachmaninoff's 2 nd Piano Concerto. He was a great story-teller, even in his last hours. When he passed away on May 26, he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Molly (Bonar) and E.K. Frank, his brother, Frank B. Frank, and his wife of 57 years, Mary Anna. He is survived by his children, Bonnie Paige and Andy Frank, both of Tulsa, and five grandchildren, Katherine and Richard Paige and Jennifer, Charles and Robert Frank. The family will hold a private remembrance.
