Donald Ray Hyde, age 67, of Damon, Texas passed away on December 9 th, 2014 with his family by his side. Don was born March 3, 1947 in Lovelady, Texas to Claude Berta Mae Hyde. Don was an Over the Road Truck Driver for more than 47 years. Don loved driving the open road and had many tales from his travels. He had been completely across the USA many times and never met a stranger anywhere he went. Don never had many hobbies, but he loved chrome, chicken lights and large cars (big trucks). He could always be counted on to help in a time of need. He had a big heart and a love for a good joke. After retirement, he loved moving back to Texas and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Hyde and brother, Claude Hyde, Jr. Don is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Thompson Hyde; his beloved dog "Dixie" who you always saw with him; his mother, Berta Mae Hyde; brothers, Marty Hyde and wife Sissy, Ronnie Hyde and wife Sherrie, Joe Hyde and wife Gorgana; daughters, Bernadette Krause and husband Dwayne, Donna Thorson and husband Raymond; son, Barry Hyde; grandchildren, Charles Fink, Jr. (C.J.) and fianc Amanda Etzler, Dustin Fink and fianc Jessica Humphrey, Savannah Thorson and Tyler Hyde; his best friend, Don "Spider" Worley and wife Linda; Extended family, Lawanna Stane and Jimmy Russell of Oklahoma, Deni McKay, Patricia Bishop, Irene Otto and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and an unending number of friends that loved him dearly. His life will be celebrated 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home in Damon, Texas.
