Obituary

Donald G Wall was born July 15th, 1937. He was the son of Jessie and Glen Wall, and brother to four siblings Geraldean, Betty, Peggy and Jimmy. Don graduated from Sand Springs High School where he excelled in sports, especially boxing. He was crowned Golden Gloves boxing champion featherweight division in 1955. After graduation Don joined the Army and also married his high school sweetheart Charlotte Jane Foster. While in the Army, Don was stationed at the Pentagon where he received several letters and certificates of commendation for outstanding service. When discharged from the Army, Don moved back to Sand Springs Oklahoma to raise his family, daughter Donrae and son Darrin. Don worked for American Airlines for 32 1/2 yrs until his retirement in 1992. He spent the years after his retirement on the golf course as much as he could. Golfing was a lifelong passion and he continued to play well into his late seventies. Don and Charlotte enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends. Don was an active member of the Sand Springs Elks Lodge, and participated in many of their charity programs. He especially enjoyed helping with any veteran activities and the Sand Springs Community Services Food for Kids Backpack program. Don and Charlotte were married for 59 years before Charlotte passed away in 2016. During their marriage He became grandfather (Pawpaw) to Scott Moore, Skyler Moore, Madison Moore, Stacy Hargrove and Travis Hargrove. Later, Don became great-grandpa to Grayson Moore, Hayden Moore, Taylor Hull, Olivia Nations, Brayden Watson, Jacob Shields, Jaida Hargrove. They were also the proud aunt and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Don was a well-respected member of the community. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and generous heart. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, and often could be found cooking in the kitchen at the Elks Lodge to raise funds for their many charities. Don was a friend to any person that was fortunate enough to cross his path. He was blessed by many lifelong friendships that became more like extended family members. He was a dedicated family man and friend. He will be missed, but the family takes comfort knowing hes reunited with his true love, Miss Charlotte.
