IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna J
Davis
June 21, 1941 – October 5, 2025
Donna Jean (Boley) Davis journeyed to her heavenly home in the early hours of Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Forrest Manor Nursing Center in Dewey, OK. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Ralph E. Davis, twin boys Dwight & Dewayne Davis and daughter Janet Davis.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 21, 1941, to Houston A. and Ellen G. (Collins) Boley, Donna was raised in Delaware, Oklahoma with her sister Sharon. Donna married Ralph Davis on February 18, 1960, and they began their family in the Alluwe/Chelsea area where Ralph worked on an oil lease. Dwight & Dewayne were born premature and did not survive. Son Stephen was born in 1961 and Michael followed in 1962. The family relocated to Kansas City, KS where Ralph soon began employment with Ford Motor Company. Daughter Janet completed the family in 1965.
Once her children began school, Donna went to work for School District 500 as a "Lunch Lady". During her 15 years of employment, she was asked to take charge of the district's Central Kitchen. Created to prepare meals for the schools that did not have kitchens, she and the staff prepared lunches for delivery. Almost all of the food was "made from scratch". Eventually, Donna would also work for The American Greeting Card Company stocking cards for local stores.
In 1989 the family welcomed Janet's daughter Amber Rochelle into their lives and Donna again became a grandmother however, Ralph and Donna were devastated by the loss of their daughter in 1992 and took on the task of raising Amber to adulthood.
In the mid 90's Ralph retired from Ford and the family relocated to their vacation home by Grand Lake in Grove, OK where the family continued their membership in the Nazarene church. Donna loved teaching the young children, helping to lead the morning worship, and becoming Missionary President. Donna returned to work stocking greeting cards in Grove and surrounding areas and took joy in raising her grand-daughter Amber.
Diagnosed with Parkinson's Donna moved in with her son Stephen and his wife in late 2019. She connected with the medical care she needed and briefly attended the DayBreak program at Elder Care before moving into Forrest Manor Nursing Center. There she wrote devotionals for the staff sharing Jesus and His good news. Loving to color with pencils, she would complete page after page of floral images with scripture verses. She would tape them onto other residents' doors or gift them to staff and family to brighten their days.
Donna chose to spend her final days under the care of Comforting Hands Hospice in her room at Forrest Manor attended to by the staff she had grown to love and care about who also had come to love her. In the end, she was blessed by the family who were able to visit and remind her how much she was loved on earth before God took her home.
Donna is survived by her son Stephen and wife Carol, son Michael and wife Jamie, sister Sharon Smith, grandchildren Amber and partner Malachi, Kelsey and husband Andrew, Geoffrey and wife Pearl, Lottie, Sutton, Wilder, and seven great-grandchildren.
Donna's Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at The Church of the Nazarene 1401 N. Wyandotte St. Dewey, OK, 74029
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's name to Elder Care's DayBreak program at 1223 Swan Dr. Bartlesville, OK 74006
Psalm 46:5 "God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved…"
You can't break a woman who draws her strength from God.
She may cry. She may feel tired. But she never gives up.
Because deep down, she knows – God is with her.
Some days she's a fighter. Some days she is a mess.
But every day, she gets back up. She trusts. She prays.
She stands on his promises.
