Donna Sue Oakes, 64, of Sand Springs, OK., gained her wings on September 9th, 2023, at 1:39 am in Tulsa, OK.

She was born on January 14th, 1959, in Marengo, IA to parents Laverne and Max Vandrimmelen and was the youngest out 5 of siblings.

Donna met Thomas Oakes in 1979 and they married in 1982. They have two daughters, Sherry and Sheena Oakes.

Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and mee-maw and family was most important to her.

One of her greatest joys was being a mee-maw. Always telling Ryker and Raylee that they are her sunshine babies. They meant the world to her as she meant the world to them!

Anyone who was ever blessed to know Donna would say that she was the strongest, most selfless, amazing, and loving person.

She was so full of life, there was never a dull moment if she was there. She loved music, dancing, cooking, family time, watching her grandbabies play sports, and back in the day on a sunny afternoon you would see her outside enjoying the weather tanning and doing yardwork.

She is survived by husband Thomas Oakes; daughters Sherry and Sheena Oakes; son-in-law Justin Dawes; grandbabies Ryker and Raylee Dawes.
