Douglas Ray Ballard born on May 18, 1958 in Victoria, TX to Billy D and Shirley Beeman Ballard, passed into the arms of Jesus, on August 20, 2024 in Tulsa, OK after having suffered a heart attack.
As a military family, Doug moved several times as a child. From his birth state of Texas to New Mexico, and then to Arkansas. When dad left the Air Force, the family moved to Tulsa, OK in September of 1965 for the school year, and then, to Broken Arrow, OK during the summer of 1966. Doug graduated from Broken Arrow High School in May of 1976.
Doug earned an associate degree in Computerized Machine Shop from Okmulgee Tech in Okmulgee, OK. His last employer was NMSI in Sand Springs, OK.
Doug was predeceased by his grandparents, Ray and Sadie Wells Beeman and Williams D and Vera Duncan Ballard, his parents, sever aunts and uncles, and a baby brother who passed in 1959 as a newborn. Doug's surviving family are his son, Christopher, of the home, his sister, Lorna Ballard Wood and niece, Emily Anne Wood, both of Fort Smith, AR. Nephew, Adam Wood and wife, Kallie, and children, Brody, Barrett, Beaux, Abigail, and Bellamy, all of Muldrow, OK. Special cousins, Stanley W Ballard (Gloria) of Ruskin, FL and Pamela Ballard Cantrell (Mark) of Olive Branch, MS and their children.
Memorial service to be held at Sequoyah Creek Church, 2800 S First Place, Broken Arrow, OK on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 10am.
