Dudley Kays McCubbin was born on February 15, 1934 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Ellis and Lela McCubbin. He left this life peacefully on Thursday November 14, 2013. Dudley was a graduate of Scottsbluff High School and then the University of Nebraska earning a degree in engineering. He served four years in the US Army and was stationed with his family in Munich, Germany much of the time. Dudley was an accomplished aerospace engineer for Martin Marietta Co. in Denver, Colorado where he worked on the Titan missile program. When his children were young he was involved in many family activities with them including building a family cabin in Fairplay, Colorado, climbing many 14,000 foot Colorado mountain peaks together, serving as Scout Master to his son Mike's Boy Scout Troop and taking his three girls to many, many horse shows. Dudley met and married Iris Atwell in 1986 and made his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Iris and Dudley loved traveling and volunteering. They befriended and helped numerous families from Uganda, and where involved in several prison ministries. Dudley was a volunteer fireman for Commerce City, Colorado, active in the Broken Arrow Optimist club, and delivered senior meals for Broken Arrow to name a few. He is survived by his wife Iris Atwell-McCubbin of Broken Arrow, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Diane McCubbin of Littleton, Colorado, daughter and son-in-law Monica and Jim Cunningham of Bristow, Oklahoma, daughter Marche McCubbin of Palm Bay, Florida, daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Chris Lewis of Bedford, Indiana, and step-daughter and step-son-in-law Jennifer and Andy Thomas of Coweta. He is also survived by numerous grand and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 21st at 1:00 p.m. at St. Dunstans Episcopal Church, 5635 E. 71st St. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers donations may be given through St. Dunstans to the Prison Ministry's Children's Summer Camp Fund. Please sign the guestbook and share a memory.
