Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Chelf was born in Abington, Pennsylvania on July 31, 1946 to Charles and Elizabeth Ford. She passed away May 31, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Betty was a mother, grandmother, granny, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She never met a stranger and her fun, adventurous spirit was contagious. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her time going on walks and enjoying her flowers from her swing. She rarely turned down a chance to go on a road trip. Whether it was visiting the grandkids in Texas, family in Pennsylvania, or craft shows with a friend. She loved to GO! The Sand Springs Lake was a favorite spot of hers. She enjoyed walking around the small lake or sitting in her car on Sunday morning listening to the country Gospel station for her "church time". One of her favorite things was to spend time with her daughter and grandkids. She loved being with her family and rarely missed a school program, dance recital, or wrestling match. She was always ready to meet for lunch, go to the zoo with her great grandkids, or just hang out last minute. She didnt miss opportunities to spend time with those she loved. She spent a lot of time on the phone with her distant loved ones. She was so great at keeping in touch. "Hot Rod Granny" became a nickname after her love for fast cars and races. She was called "Grandma Betty" and "Aunt Betty" by not only family but others who adored her and were treated as family. Her presence, laughter and joy for life will be deeply missed. Betty is survived by her husband: Charles Chelf; son: Ronald Surber; daughter: Teresa Bagwill and husband Bobby; granddaughter: Alexis Campbell and husband Matthew; grandson: Jacob Bagwill and wife Brittany; step-daughter: Lucy and husband Gene Fultz; step-grandkids: Jessica, Chester and Julie Fultz and Taylor Fultz; great grandchildren: Zander, Truston and Josiah Campbell, Ryder and Sawyer Bagwill; step great grandkids: Gary, Chad, Ashley, Brandon, Nicole, Emily and Chase Fultz; siblings: Charles Ford, Clarence Ford, Frederick Ford, Florence Hatcher, Linda White, James Ford, Ed Ford and George Ford; eight nephews; eight nieces and a host of other family and friends.
