Ernestine Claudette Evans was born in Cooper, TX on August 25, 1942 to Ernest Claude and Willa Mae Evans. Tina passed away on March 15, 2019.
Tina graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1960 and started college at Oklahoma State University. She soon started dating Neal in September 1962. After only a month, Neal proposed in October and they were married June 29, 1963.
Tina was preceded in death by both of her parents and her older brother, Wayne Rooks. She is survived by her husband, Neal of nearly 56 years, her two daughters, Dana Lynn Forrest and husband Gregory, and Stacy DeAnn Borin Thoma and husband Chris, her sister Helen Wilsey, her brother James Evans and wife Karalee, 4 grandchildren: Alexander Craig Forrest and wife Alyssa, Ashley Nicole Forrest Caballero and husband Kevin, Kaitlyn Mackenzie Thoma, and Matthew Christopher Thoma, 3 great grandchildren: Avery, Kade, and Landon Forrest, plus several nieces and nephews.
Tina loved to cook for the family and spent several years as a caterer when the girls were younger. She always loved to sew just about any article she could get her hands on. So she went to work at Hancock Fabrics mainly for the employee discount but turned it into a full-time job where she made numerous life-long friends. She shared her sewing room with Neal just like she did everything else.
She also loved to sing and play her piano. But she didn't play as much as she used to because she admittingly refused to trust just anyone to tune her beloved piano.
Tina was a proud and loving mother, but nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with her grandkids. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
