Eugene was born on April 24, 1925, to Fred Eugene and Clina Yohn Snyder on the family farm west of Hopeton, OK. He attended Alva High School and graduated 1943. Eugene proudly served our country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Upon his return to Alva, he met and married his best friend and love of his life, Joyce Ann (Gill) Snyder on June 3, 1949. Eugene was a proud father to 3 children, Billie Jean Snyder Suarez (husband Joe), Jerry Lynn Snyder (wife Carol) and Patricia Diane Snyder Overton (husband Bruce). He had 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Wallace (husband Mike), Ryan Overton (wife Chandra), lindsey Baker (husband Sam), Sherrie Snyder, Kristy Snyder, Jeremy Snyder along with 2 step grandchildren, Dean Bates (wife Dena) and Christel Dawn Horton (husband Clay). He also proudly had 11 great grandchildren. Eugene retired from Cummins Construction Company in 1990 and he and Ann moved to Grand Lake where they lived for 11 years. He was very active in his church, Langley Christian Church, and even helped them build their new building. He volunteered also for Habitat for Humanity and helped them build their new church. He also donated blood regularly for many years until his health kept him from doing so. Eugene is survived by his Wife, Joyce Ann Snyder, and their 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and brother, Cecil Snyder, Bartlesville, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
