Obituary

VanderTook, Evelyn, 70, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, following a long battle with Parkinson's disease and dementia. Evelyn was born on March 16, 1942, at Siloam Springs, Missouri, to Art and Grace Lovan. On August 27, 1960, she married Arthur VanderTook of West Plains, Missouri. Arthur and Evelyn had two sons, Michael and Patrick. Evelyn was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed ceramics, cake decorating, candy making, and crafts of all kinds. She was an active part of her sons' lives doing everything from leading a pack of Cub Scouts to volunteering as a band parent. Evelyn is survived by her husband Arthur, of Tulsa, and two sons, Mike, also of Tulsa, and Pat and his wife, Jana, of Mustang. In addition, she is survived by two grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua, both of Tulsa, and one sister, Sandy Dillard, and her husband, Johnnie Bert, of Eminence, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roger Lovan, of West Plains, Missouri. A private service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
