Frances Cordova Glore passed away on January 16, 2024, at the age of 102. Frances was born on June 25, 1921, in Webberville, TX., to Will and Estela Cordova. She was the oldest of 8 children. The family moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, when she was a child. She spent most of her adult life living in Tulsa, OK, with one exception when she briefly moved to Ventura, California.
Frances was a woman in the WWII workforce. During the war, women labored in construction, drove trucks, cut lumber, and worked on farms. They worked in factories, built planes, trains, ships and munitions. Frances worked at the Douglas factory in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she helped to build the Dauntless, Invader, and B-24 Liberator bombers. Prior to working in the war effort, she worked at the Sand Springs Cotton Mill. After the war she worked for and retired from Sky Chef before going to work for and retiring from Tulsa Public Schools where she worked in the cafeteria at various elementary schools.
Frances was predeceased by her parents Will and Estela Cordova, her sisters Lucy Cordova, Alice Duncan, and Hope Cruz, and her brothers Arnold Cordova, Arthur Cordova, two infant siblings, and her oldest son, John Ellsworth. She is survived by her brother Abel Cordova and wife Rita of Broken Arrow, OK, daughter Vicki Meldrum of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1 grandson Don Meldrum and wife Corinna of Oklahoma City, Ok: William Jones of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 4 grandchildren, Tracy Jones of Indiana, Kari Hurt and husband Jason of Tulsa, OK, 4 great grandchildren, Ashley Jones of Tulsa, OK and 4 great grandchildren, Ryan Jones and wife Melanie of Tulsa, OK: Ronald Jones and wife Brenda of Kingston, WA, 4 grandchildren Eli Jones and wife Elizabeth of Bixby, OK, 3 great grandchildren, Shannon Guynn of Sand Springs, OK, 1 great grandchild, Chris Ellis of Springdale, OH, and 2 great grandchildren, and Eric Jones and partner Britany Palmer of Sand Springs, OK, a granddaughter, Angela Parker of Sand Springs, OK and 2 great grandchildren.
Her after-life care is entrusted to the Cremation Society of Oklahoma and her remains will be interred at Woodland Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma at a future time in a private family gathering.
