Obituary

Frances Ruth (Bock) Knaack, 88 years old, of Tulsa, formerly of Brecksville Ohio, passed away on June 16, 2012. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Joe A. Bock and Lila B. Armstrong Bock on July 9, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Johnson, husband Raymond Knaack and son, Paul Knaack. She is survived by her daughter, Gale Knaack Luria, favorite son-in-law E. Bruce Luria, much loved grandson Matthew B. Luria and many friends including Rick, Jackie and Samantha Portman in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Brecksville, Ohio. She was an expert at sewing, quilting, knitting, needlepoint and any other craft she put her mind to. She was always willing to help and teach others and often did, as well as encouraging all she came in contact with. She loved cooking for all, especially for Bruce and Rick. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Brecksville, Ohio; long time Mother Advisor in Rainbow for Girls in Brecksville, Ohio. She moved to Tulsa in 2005 from Brecksville Ohio to be closer to her daughter family. She first lived at Town Village and later moved to University Village for the last 3 years. She was involved in the knitting group that made hats and small knitted coverlets for preemies for local hospitals, crocheted lap robes for people in wheelchairs, and hats for older children for the winter. She cared about many people, those that she knew and many she did not. We ask that instead of flowers, donations be made to Hope Unitarian Church Feed the Homeless Fund, which does a monthly meal for the Day Center. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Hope Unitarian Church 8432 S. Sheridan Tulsa, OK 74133 on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be sent through the guestbook on this page. Service: 07/21/2012 11:00am Hope Unitarian Church
