Franklin Thomas "Tom" Hartwick, 77, passed away in his home in Jenks, OK, surrounded by his family, on Monday, September 8th, 2025, following an extended illness.

Tom was born in Stillwater, OK on November 5, 1947 to Franklin Edward Hartwick and Edith Cavell Hartwick. Growing up, his family experienced living in Arizona, Utah, and Massachusetts where he graduated from Hudson High School in 1965. He subsequently completed a 2-year mechanical drafting course during which he was drafted into the Army Reserves in 1967.

He volunteered to go to Vietnam where he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1970 as an aviation mechanic and bravely faced combat.

Upon his return in 1970, Tom met his future wife, Cheryl, when he started what would be a 32-year career with the United States Postal Service in Tulsa, OK. They were married in February 1972 and together welcomed two children.

He lived his life with honesty, generosity, and a steadfast commitment to doing what was right. His love for his family, strong moral compass, and lighthearted sense of humor - often aimed at himself - left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He found great joy in the company of family pets. Dogs always seemed to know they had a friend in him. His favorite pastimes included working on classic cars with his son, watching football, and sharing special moments with his granddaughter.

Tom will be greatly missed and is survived by: His wife, Cheryl Hartwick; son and daughter-in-law, Thom and Donna Hartwick; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jason Gilardi; granddaughter, Jordan Gilardi; sister, Leslie Fleming; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
